‘A BREAK FROM THINKING’ is an oil on canvas.
I built up rich layers of texture with colour underneath. Then blocking out some areas I created shapes with drawn elements on top. I was especially inspired by the beautiful colours of the oil paints and oil sticks. Applying the lush buttery paint with various different tools to make a varity of marks including scratching through to reveal a hint of the colour below. The focus and concentration is like a meditation or a break from thinking. ’ SR
